우리가 살다 보면 위기(crisis)를 기회(opportunity)로 삼으란 말이 있다. 여기에선 베드로가 주인공이다. 그는 고기를 한 마리도 못 잡았다. 예수가 있었던 곳이 게네사렛 호수가로 되어 있는데 이곳은 구약 시대엔 ‘깃네렛 못’(깃네렛은 비파라는 뜻)이라고 되었는데 바벨론 포로 시
대 이후엔 게넷 사렛 호수(로마식 이름)가 되었다. 마태복음 4장18절에 보면 갈릴리 해변에 다니시다가 두 형제 베드로(Peter)라 하는 시몬(Simon)과 그 형제 안드레(Andrew)가 바다에 그물 던지는 것을 보시니 저희는 어부(fisher men)라(And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers and Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were a fisher men.)

마태와 마가는 안드레까지 넣어서 넷(Peter, John, James, Andrew)을 불렀다고 주장했으나 누가는 안드레를 생략했다. 이 제자들은 명예나 지위가 대단한 자들이 아닌 사람들이었다. 이것은 의인을 찾아 온 것이 아니고 죄인을 찾아 회개시키기 위한 하나님의 섭리로 예수가 이 땅에 오시지 않았는가? 생각해 보시라. 요한복음 6장1절엔 그 후에 예수께서 갈릴리 바다, 곧 디베랴 바다 건너편에 가시매 큰 무리가 따르니 이는 병인에게 행하는 표적(signs which He was performing on those who was sick)을 봄이러라.

5:1-2.And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by lake of Gennesaret and saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fisher men were gone out of them, and washing their nets. 3.And he entered into the one of the
ships, which was the Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 4.Now when he left speaking, he said unto them, launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught.[Luke 5:1-4]

5:1.무리가 옹위하여 하나님의 말씀을 들을 새 예수는 게네사렛 호숫가에 서서 2.호숫가에 두 배가 있는 것을 보시니 어부들은 배에서 나와 그물을 씻는지라 3.예수께서 한 배에 오르시니 그 배는 시몬의 배라 육지에서 조금 띄기를 청하시고 앉으사 배에서 무리를 가르치시더니 4.말씀을 마치시고 시몬에게 이르시되 깊은 데로 가서 그물을 내려 고기를 잡으라.[누가복음 5:1-4]

■Structure & Vocabulary
*무리가 옹위하여 말씀을 들을 새=The people pressed upon him to hear the word of God *press=밀어 닥치다, 옹위하다. the people pressed round the baseball player=사람들이 그 야구 선수 둘레에 우루루 몰려들었다. 조르다, 강요하다. *to hear the word of God=하나님의 말씀을 듣기 위하여 *배가 호수 위에 있는 것을 보았다=He saw(incomplete transitive verb·불완전타동사) the ships(objective·목적어) standing by the lake(objective complement·목적보어)

*The fisher men were gone out of them, and were(be동사 are의 과거) washing(wash의 현재분사) their nets·과거진행형(past progressive from)=그물을 씻는 중이었다. *...into one of the ships, which(the ships)was Simon’s 여기에서 which 는 Simon’s ship 을 가르킨다. *thrust=세게 밀치다, 쑤셔 넣다. thrust the chair forward 의자를 앞으로 세게 밀치다. *when he left speaking=말씀을 마칠 때 *launch=진수시키다 *draught=drawing in a fish net(the amount of fish caught in one draw·한 번 던져서 잡은 고기의 분량) *fisher men=어부.
