Samsung Recalls 1.12 Million Electric Ovens Due to Defects

More than one million Samsung electric ovens sold in North America are being recalled.
On the 8th, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Samsung has initiated a recall of 1.12 million units across 30 different models of slide-in electric ovens sold from May 2013 until recently.
The commission stated, “Samsung has received over 300 reports since 2013 of the front handle unintentionally being activated by people or pets.” The commission also noted that “these ranges have been linked to approximately 250 fire incidents, with at least 18 resulting in significant property damage.”
In addition, about 40 injuries have been reported, including eight that required medical treatment, and there have been seven reports of fires leading to the deaths of pets.
