우리가 신앙생활을 하다가 보면 종종 시험에 들 때가 있다. 전도서에 보면 아는 지식이 많으면 고뇌가 많다고 한다. 성경에서 보면 마귀가 예수를 시험해도 예수는 다 이기고 사탄을 꼼짝 못하게 만드신다. 우리는 물욕과 명예를 음지보다 더 좋아하는 인간인지라 괴로움을 경험할 때가
많은지도 모른다. 유대인들이 말하는 왕국과 예수가 의미하는 왕국은 달랐다. 그는 이 세상의 왕국(The Kingdom of this world)이 아니라고 요18장36절에서 말씀하셨다.(Jesus answered, my kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my
kingdom not from hence.)
“예수께서 대답하시되 내 나라는 이 세상에 속한 것이 아니라 만일 내 나라가 이 세상에 속한 것이었다면 내 종들이 싸워 나로 유대인들에게 넘기우지 않게 하였으리라 이제 내 나라는 여기에 속한 것이 아니니라.” 이 세상의 임금은 그에게 아무관계도 없었다. 또 “But he answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”(Matthew 4:10)
“이에 예수께서 말씀하시되 사단아 물러가라 기록되었으되 주 너희 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라.” (마4:10) 우리는 주 하나님만 섬길 것만 생각하면 얼마든지 마귀를 물리칠 수 있으리라.
“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, all this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give
it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, get thee behind me, satan: for it is written, thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”[Luke 4:5-8]
“마귀가 또 예수를 이끌고 올라가서 순식간에 천하만국을 보이며, 가로되 이 모든 권세와 그 영광을 내가 네게 주리라 이것은 내게 넘겨준 것이므로 나의 원하는 자에게 주노라 그러므로 네가 만일 내게 절하면 다 네 것이 되리라. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 기록하기를 주 너희 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라”[눅4:5-8]
