H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the U.S., is accelerating its nationwide expansion, making its first foray into Florida with the grand opening of a massive store. On September 25, 2025, H Mart celebrated the grand opening of its Orlando store. Spanning approximately 100,000 square feet, the Orlando location (7501 W. Colonial Dr., Orlando) is one of the largest H Mart stores in the country.

Like other H Mart locations nationwide, it operates daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., open year-round. H Mart plans to continue expanding across the U.S., solidifying its position as the leading Asian supermarket chain. Following the Orlando opening, the company is preparing to launch a second Florida store in Tampa. The grand opening event was attended by over 100 people, including Orange County Commissioner Mike Scott (District 6), Tim Giuliani, CEO of the Orlando Economic Partnership, Florida Korean Association President Hong Geumnam, and local residents, making it a resounding success.

H Mart President Brian Kwon stated, “We are thrilled to bring the authentic flavors of Asia to the Orlando community. H Mart is committed to introducing the diverse culinary cultures of Asia to all our customers and making it easy for them to enjoy these flavors at home.” To celebrate the Orlando store’s opening, H Mart is hosting various promotional events. Customers spending $30 or more will receive assorted gifts, while those spending $200 or more can purchase select items for just $1.

Additionally, new or existing customers who sign up for or update their email for the H Mart “Smart Rewards Card,” which offers various discounts, will receive a free H Mart insulated mug. The Orlando store’s food hall features six popular brands, including Korean restaurant “Myungga,” Korean-style Chinese cuisine “Baek Jong Won’s Hong Kong Banjeom 0410,” Korean snack specialist “Joe’s Tteokbokki,” Korean cold noodle expert “Yuchun,” Korean-style hot dog brand “OK Dog,” and Japanese katsu specialist “Chidon.” This diverse lineup provides customers with a unique dining experience alongside their shopping.

The Orlando food hall reflects Asia’s casual dining culture, offering a sophisticated atmosphere, diverse cuisine, and exceptional customer service. It is expected to attract not only H Mart shoppers but also mall visitors eager to explore new culinary experiences. Since opening its first store in Woodside, New York, in 1982, H Mart has grown to operate over 100 stores across 18 states, employing more than 6,000 staff and maintaining five regional distribution and processing centers.

It has established itself as the largest international supermarket chain in the U.S. By state, California leads with 19 stores, followed by New York, New Jersey, Washington, Texas, Virginia, Illinois, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, and North Carolina. H Mart has already surpassed competing Chinese and Japanese supermarket chains in both store count and revenue. Riding the wave of the Korean Wave and K-food craze, H Mart’s customer base has expanded beyond the Korean and Asian communities to include mainstream customers such as White, Hispanic, and Black shoppers. The inclusion of food halls offering Asian cuisine and various businesses within H Mart stores has created a synergistic effect, further boosting its appeal.
