Trump Announces “Israel-Iran Reach Full Ceasefire Agreement…War to Officially End in 24 Hours”
On June 23, President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran have agreed to a "complete and comprehensive" ceasefire, ending 12 days of armed conflict.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated, "A full agreement has been reached for a complete and comprehensive ceasefire between Israel and Iran."

Posted at approximately 6:02 p.m. Eastern Time, Trump explained that the ceasefire would begin about six hours after both sides halt ongoing operations. Iran will initiate a 12-hour ceasefire, followed by Israel starting its own 12-hour ceasefire 12 hours later. The war will officially end 24 hours after Iran’s ceasefire begins.
Trump added, "During each ceasefire period, both sides will maintain a peaceful and respectful stance toward the other."

Assuming all proceeds smoothly, Trump noted that "24 hours from now, the world will witness the official end of a war that has lasted 12 days."
The conflict began on June 12 when Israel launched surprise airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities. On June 21, U.S. forces attacked three Iranian nuclear sites, including Fordow, using bunker-buster bombs. Two days later, on June 23, Iran retaliated by firing ballistic missiles at a U.S. military base in Qatar.

However, Iran notified the U.S. and Qatar of its attack plans in advance and limited its targets to the U.S. base in Qatar, showing restraint.
