Reuters reported on the 25th that Kia is recalling 137,256 vehicles in the United States.

According to Reuters, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that the piston oil rings used in the affected vehicles may have been improperly manufactured, raising concerns about potential engine damage.

The recall targets 2021-2023 model year Seltos and Soul vehicles, according to the NHTSA. The agency noted that the recall will involve inspections conducted through dealers, with engines replaced if necessary and free installation of software related to a piston ring noise detection system.
