Bank of Hope (CEO Kevin Kim) has stepped up to actively support victims of the unprecedented wildfires that have simultaneously ravaged the Los Angeles area.
On the 23rd, Kevin Kim, CEO of Bank of Hope, presented a $100,000 donation check to Elise Buik, CEO of the nonprofit organization United LA, which is actively assisting wildfire victims. The ceremony took place at the bank's headquarters.
In addition to the $100,000 donation, Bank of Hope announced a 100% matching program for employee contributions. As a result, the bank's total support funds could increase by tens of thousands of dollars.
Bank of Hope also unveiled financial assistance measures for customers and residents affected by the wildfires.
The bank stated that customers with mortgages through Bank of Hope whose homes were damaged by the wildfires could receive temporary mortgage payment deferrals and other forms of assistance. Affected customers are encouraged to contact the bank directly. A dedicated mortgage assistance helpline has been established at 855-816-1347.
Furthermore, Bank of Hope is offering assistance to victims seeking government financial aid, such as disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The bank has committed to helping victims apply for these loans if needed. For inquiries regarding SBA loans, customers can email SBAWildfireAssist@bankofhope.com.
Kevin Kim stated, "As a regional bank with its operations based in the LA area and as the largest Korean-American bank in the U.S., all of us at Bank of Hope are committed to supporting wildfire recovery efforts." He added, "We sincerely extend our sympathies to the victims who have lost their homes and businesses and are in despair."
Kim also emphasized the bank's dedication to assisting victims in rebuilding their lives, saying, "The bank will provide all necessary financial products and consultations to aid in rapid recovery. Please do not hesitate to reach out for the assistance you need."
