Another Winter Deluge Expected in Southern California
A widespread "atmospheric river" phenomenon is expected to bring heavy rain to Southern California again this winter.

According to a recent report by AccuWeather, this atmospheric river is predicted to cause heavy rainfall along the U.S. West Coast this winter. The report warns that Southern California could experience severe winter storms due to this phenomenon, especially concentrated at the beginning of next year.

An atmospheric river refers to a large stream of water vapor moving in a long, narrow band through the atmosphere. This phenomenon is one of the primary causes of heavy rainfall and flooding in regions like the western U.S. and Canada.

The report predicts that moisture will increase in the Pacific Northwest from November through December, forming an atmospheric river over Northern California. Storms will then likely move inland, crossing the Rocky Mountains. Conditions could develop for these storms to shift southward early next year, potentially impacting Central and Southern California.
