Contributing to help children all over the world

On April 24, 2022, New Hope Echoes, a non-profit organization, is hosting a concert in partnership with Compassion to raise money and help refugee children affected by the war in Ukraine. New Hope Echoes is an organization that I’ve been participating in for almost 6 years and it’s been a great experience so far. Through this experience, I was able to learn to be grateful for the everyday things that I used to take for granted. It was heartbreaking to know that there are so many children in the world, even till today, that don’t have the everyday things that we take for granted living in America. This motivated me to continue participating in this organization and start participating in other volunteer opportunities. I felt proud that I could use my skills like playing the piano or singing to help raise money for children in need. I first started to participate in this organization after my grandmother heard about it, and suggested that participating would be a great experience and an opportunity to learn more. At first, I didn’t really know what I was doing and what this organization really was. But after each concert was held, I started to learn about the issues children all over the world are going through like lack of clean water, no clean bathrooms, diseases, and many more. To help raise money for these children, New Hope Echoes have been choosing different goals for each concert and the goal for this concert is to help the refugee children in Ukraine. Due to COVID, we weren’t able to host any concerts but luckily numbers have been going down and we were able to arrange a concert this April. This concert can be a great volunteer experience and an opportunity to learn what it feels like to help others for students and for parents it can be an opportunity to contribute in fundraising for refugee children in Ukraine. I hope that many people will participate and attend this concert so we can all help these children!
