High School Football, while lower levels than college football or the NFL, is an entertaining sport to watch. Families and students will gather to watch games and cheer for their team like there won’t be a tomorrow.

On a related note, Los Altos High School and St. Paul High School will be facing off in a football match this coming Friday, and anticipation is heated as the week goes on.
The anticipation is so high, in fact, that one Los Altos HS student believed that the spirit at a game is so high that it motivates the players to do better.

He went on to say, “I think that spirit is another drive to do better because the team doesn’t want to let the fans down.”

Not only is anticipation high, but Los Altos’ past games this season might be a sign that they may come out on top this year. With a record of 2-0, prospects are high for Los Altos to win this coming Thursday.

On the matter of Los Altos compared to other teams in the division, sports reporter Travis Mewhirter stated, “For its size (as a school), the team is pretty good as a team. They can’t offer scholarships (like Mater Dei can) for better players, so for a smaller public school, the team is really solid.”

However, Los Altos reportedly replaced their long-time coach with a new one this coming season, so changes made to the team may have a detrimental effect and lead to defeat for the Conquerors.

St. Paul, however, has a strong background as well.

Also with a record of 2-0, St. Paul has had quite a season, averaging more points and total yardage than Los Altos altogether.

Overall, both teams are proving to show that they can have a great game this coming Thursday and the competition will be fierce.
