The multi-tasking students of summer

You might ask about what high schoolers are doing over the summer. To be honest, high schoolers does a lot of things over the summer. Based on my interview on three people, two people are taking health. Leo is one of my friends at school, we go to Portola High School. He’s one year old than me and he’s going to be a junior next year. He’s interested in computer science. He is currently taking health class because it’s a high school requirement, it’s the first six weeks of summer in Creekside for him.

Eric on the other hand, he is a 9th grader at Northwood, his reason for why taking blended online health is because he wants to save more time for later, so why not take it now. Jason Lee is the third person that I did my interview with, he doesn’t have any academic stuff over this summer, so basically hanging out with friends is what he’s doing.

Trying not to be bored over two and half month is… pretty much a challenge for anyone, I mean he still have some time to have some fun before high school. He also told me that he is going to have friends for sleepover, so that’s going to be fun for him. After interviewing three people, I’m surprised that high schoolers actually have some free time to do stuff, and I think we should use that time wisely because we are busy in school all the time and that’s the only time we can do what we want.

Maybe learn something that you didn’t have the time for or try out something new. You can also work on your major, that way you won’t be super busy when it’s time for college applying. Also, you can take classes that’s required and don’t have to worry about it later. For example, I took health during the summer after eighth grade and got a pretty good grade, because I don’t really have anything else to do.

After summer, all my friends have to take health because they didn’t take it in summer, and it was a busy year for them. What I mean by working on your major is that if you already know what you want to majored in college then you can start preparing it right now. For example, One of my friends wanted to major in engineering, so last summer she started taking engineering class that’s going to make sure that she is going to that engineering college.
