사가랴는 하나님과 아브라함의 맹세를 굳게 믿음을 찬양했다. 창세기 22장16절을 보면 하나님
은 아브라함에게 맹세로써 약속했다. 그 약속을 살펴보자. “가라사대 여호와께서 이르시기를
내가 나를 가리켜 맹세하노니 네가 이같이 향하여 네 아들 네 독자를 아끼지 아니하였은즉 내
가 네게 큰 복을 주고 네 씨로 크게 성하여 하늘의 별과 같고 바닷가의 모래와 같게 하리니 네
씨가 그 대적의 문을 열으리라. 또 네 씨로 말미암아 천하 만민이 복을 얻으리니 이는 네가 나
의 말을 준행하였음이라. 이 믿음 속에서 찬양이 나오고 믿음 속에서 자신감이 나오리라.
73.The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74.That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75.In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76.And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the highest; for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77.To give knowledge salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins.

■ Structure & Vocabulary
*우리 조상 아브라함에게 맹세하신 맹세라=The oath which he sware to our father Abraham. which 이하는 형용사로써 the oath를 수식(modify)했다. *oath=a declaration or promise to act in a certain way, made with God or a deity as witness. 맹서. *swore=past tense of swear.
