The Korea Times will begin publishing the official English-language daily of the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) Thursday.
The festival, to be held until Oct. 14, is celebrating its 10th year. Within this relatively short time, the event has become the largest and most important film festival in Asia.
The event will begin with the opening ceremony at the Yachting Center in Haeundae, Pusan, tonight with the outdoor screening of ``Three Times’’ by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao Hsien, and will close with the showing of ``Wedding Campaign’’ by South Korean director Hwang Byung-kuk.
In between, 307 works from 73 countries will be shown during the nine-day festival period.
For the third year in a row, The Korea Times will be providing information in English for foreign guests and visitors to the event through its daily. The coverage will include details about the day’s special events, schedules and previews of the films, as well as interviews with filmmakers, actors and others.
Some of the daily articles will be republished in the newspaper.
The Korea Times congratulates the PIFF organizing committee on its 10th anniversary. We hope to see everyone at Pusan!
