“Nurturing the Next Generation for Unification”
"The Junior PUAC Conference aims to foster a correct awareness of unification among Korean American students and to instill continuity in unification efforts."

The LA Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (President Yongtae Lee), in partnership with the Unification Education Committee (Chairperson Jung Hye Kim), will hold the 2024 Junior PUAC Conference on Saturday, the 16th, at 5:30 p.m. at the Korean Education Center, located on the 2nd floor at 680 Wilshire Pl., LA. Consul Han Eunsil from the LA Consulate will serve as a guest speaker, presenting on "Korean Peninsula and U.S.-Korea Relations."

Additionally, the conference will provide opportunities for students to prepare for the Unification Golden Bell Quiz Competition scheduled for next spring, with group discussions, review sessions, and practice quizzes. Top performers from the quiz competition and the review sessions, as well as those recognized for outstanding unification essays, will receive generous prizes. Furthermore, newly appointed members of the Junior PUAC will be presented with official appointment certificates.

Jung Hye Kim, Head of the Unification Education Committee, and Allen Park, Vice Chair and newly elected Board Member of the Rowland Heights Education Committee, noted that the biannual conference is a significant event for Junior PUAC, alongside the Unification Golden Bell. They emphasized that any Korean American student interested in peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula is welcome to participate.

Vice President Jaeguk Lee and Senior Advisor Young Koo Shin added, “We aim to nurture second-generation Korean Americans as global leaders who can contribute to peace on the Korean Peninsula, inspiring them with vision and purpose.” They encouraged the Korean community to extend their support and interest in these efforts.
