On November 8th, America has again made history. Donald Trump, representing the Republican party, has been elected as the 45th president of the United States, following Barack Obama. As he would execute his promised policies, the most main educational policies must be focused for better education of all the students in this country.

Trump says he would immediately add an additional federal investment of ＄20 billion towards school choice. It would let states to have private school choice, magnet schools and charter laws, encouraging them to participate. This would provide students more choices to select for their education; whether it is a private, public, or magnet school.

Trump would also establish the national goal of providing school choice to every one of the 11 million school aged children living in poverty. This policy would be possible to accomplish since there will be more schools for school choice. Although not every child will be able to attend in a well-facilitating school, there will be a big possibility that the number of uneducated students and unemployment rate will decrease.

Trump would work with Congress on reforms to ensure universities are making a good faith effort to reduce the cost of college and student debt in exchange for the federal tax breaks and tax dollars. This would have a good effect. Students are always wondering and concerned about the amount of dollars put into their university and college education, since the better university or college it is, the more it costs. This promise can ensure and provide more opportunities for students struggling with money.

In total, most of Trump’s policies are about providing more students more opportunities. As many politicians try to focus on this generation’s students for the future, Trump is trying to increase the educated population than the uneducated. This can also be a development for the future’s education, as it can be an experiment for adjustment in the education provided. The increasing provision of opportunities for students can lead to a better future with more intelligent people, which can be a big advantage to America.

However, there is one big issue that Trump has promised that will shift the whole country once again. He had openly claimed on online media that he will get rid of Common Core. Common Core is a educational standard that forty-two states, District of Columbia, four territories, and the Department of Defence Education Activity has adopted throughout the country. It is standardized so that most of the country’s students would have equal education with less money and more efficient.

For this transition in 2010, many schools had hard times changing the planned curriculum. So Trump calls it a “total disaster”. How so? He says that education must be at a local level. But wouldn’t that be also an another huge transition after six years? The school would have to use its money and time to make all the tests, the activities, the reports. Does education really have to be local?Now that a new president has come, there will be many events and policies changing throughout the years. It can effect the country, more or less. This can also be a step to a more developed America, once again seeking a new future ahead of us.
