A Good Environment

A stereotypical student’s desk is often portrayed as cluttered and very unorganized. Sadly, this is the actual way most students leave their desks. When I occasionally visit other friend’s houses, when we go into their rooms, more often than not I am met with a room that looked as though it had gone through a natural disaster. Due to this, even at school, they often cannot find assignments that they had sworn they had put into their bags, only to message me later telling me that they had found it under a pile of old pages of homework. How organized someone is will contribute to his or her performance in school, volunteer work, participation in clubs, and other daily events and tasks. While being organized to the point of when you turn hysterical if even a book is misplaced would actually have a negative effect, it is always important, especially for those who are 9th grade and higher, to be well organized. An example would be a plain desk with perhaps a few books and the bare necessities, with no bright posters and distracting things adorning the desk and the wall it faces. Bright objects will only serve to distract the person, especially those who do not have the best concentration skills. However, this is not the only way to remain organized. Another way would be to utilize a little pocketbook and/or daily organizer to jot down dates and other memos for upcoming events and occasions. Having an organized lifestyle will have a positive effect not only on you, but also on the people around you.
