The Effects of Technology

Technology is something that has become a vital part of our lives. As compared to the year 2000, we have advanced in terms of technology so far that we have completely different lifestyles as compared to those in the 1990s. This drastic improvement has worked in our favor. Advances in many different fields, such as the medical field, have helped immensely and saved countless lives. However, while this has aided the human race in terms of a more comfortable and happier lifestyle, it has its downfalls as well. Present teenagers have turned daily exercise into playing video games and watching TV every day. While doing this once in a while would be relaxing and for the most part, perfectly fine, this occurrence has taken over the lives of many people, and has become a routine. Exercise is something that gets our blood flowing, and as a result, you feel more energetic and awake. It also strengthens your muscles so that you feel stronger and less tired. In the present, many teens complain that they have no energy, and that they feel lazy and unmotivated. Studies have shown that exercising releases endorphins, which are chemicals that allow you to feel happy and calm. The release of endorphins into your bloodstream can make you feel and look better, and can also help those with mild depression. Daily exercise of at least 30 minutes a day, experts say, can help students earn better grades as well induce better blood circulation in the brain. However, the presence of advanced technological devices such as smartphones and laptops prevents that because it causes the user to focus solely on the device. “There are less and less kids trying out for sports every year,” states one of the football coaches at DBHS.
