President Roh Moo-hyun on Monday condemned the terrorist attack in Iraq against South Korean civilians, describing it as “unforgivable and inhumane.”
In a meeting with his top aides and secretaries, Roh offered condolences to the families of the victims.
Roh instructed officials to come up with measures to ensure that South Koreans would not come under further terrorist attacks and said the government needs to take care in treating the wounded and bringing back the bodies of those killed.
He also ordered National Security Advisor Ra Jong-il, head of the National Security Council, to convene an emergency session to discuss measures regarding the attack, while calling on him to take every measure to protect South Koreans in Iraq.
