D. The Laura Ingalls Wilder Award

미국 아동작가 중 유명한 사람 중의 하나인 Laura Ingalls Wilder의 공헌을 기념한 이 상은 Milton Meltzer 작가가 쓴 여러 가지 역사책(historical nonfiction)들이 그 상을 받았습니다. 미국 역사를 잘 알고 있는 미국 중류가정의 부모들과는 달리, 이민온 1세 부모들이 미국 역사에 익숙하지 못한 경우가 있을지도 모르니, 우리 2세들에게 미국 역사책이나 역사적 넌픽션(historical nonfiction)을 많이 읽는 기회를 주도록 제안합니다.
